Linux Mint is popular and pretty light. Another I've been eyeing is Kubuntu with the Latte dock. I've been wanting to try it on my 2006 Macbook 2,1 or Ubuntu Budgie. Solus OS looks nice but I don't know how demanding it is on hardware. Lubuntu is reminiscent of an older version of Windows and lightweight. Elementary OS isn't too demanding and Mac like. If you don't like Chrome OS and it is too lightweight for Windows 10. Does it even use a x86 CPU? It could use ARM. It may not even have Windows 7/8 drivers. There's probably little or no chance you'll find any Windows 95 drivers for it. Go down to where it says, "" without quotes (it may be capitalized differently). Open SYSTEM.INI with Windows Notepad or another plain text editor. Find your flash drive in Windows Explorer, double-click it, and go to WINDOWS, then find SYSTEM.INI.ģ. Make sure your WIN95 drive is still connected.Ģ. Boot your computer into your regular install (not USB). This is only required if you have over 512 MB of RAM.ġ.
Sometimes when your start Windows 95, it may give you an alert that you have not enough memory when you actually have too much. Make sure your computer boots from USB when it restarts. Just go through the setup as normal, when it's done, just restart. When you see C:>\, type: CD WIN95 and press ENTER.Ĥ. Boot your computer from your USB drive again.Ģ. Make sure one of the files is SETUP.EXE.ġ. Copy all of the files from your Windows 95 CD to the WIN95 folder on your USB drive. Make a new folder on your USB drive called, "WIN95".ģ. Insert your Windows 95 CD into your computer.Ģ. If you see C:\>, then it has successfully booted.ġ. There are about a thousand ways to do this, so just try Google. You can now try to boot your computer from your USB drive. Under "Format Options," select "Create a DOS Startup Disk," select "using DOS system files at," click the button to the side, then find your DOS folder and click Select.ĥ. Your computer will not boot with FAT32 or NTFS!Ĥ. Open the HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool.Ģ. BACKUP ANY IMPORTANT FILES TO YOUR COMPUTER.ġ. NOTE: THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF THE FILES ON YOUR USB DRIVE.
